An evening with Philip Bujak
John Sherwood Temple:
The Bravest Man in the British Army?
Thursday 11 May, 7pm
John (Jack) Sherwood Kelly, VC CMG DSO (1880-1931) was a formidable soldier. He fought in British colonial campaigns in the early 1900s, at Gallipoli, the Somme and Cambrai during WW1 and, later, was involved in the British campaign in northern Russia in support of the White Russians.
Towards the end of his life, he fell out with Churchill in a very public dispute and was court martialled.
Join us for a fascinating evening with local military historian Philip Bujak, to hear the tale of his demise.
