Who can fail to be delighted by Wendy Cope?! Particularly this beautiful edition with the tulip sprayed onto the edges of the book.
 
I first discovered Wendy Cope's poems the day after my sister's wedding back in 1992. My father and I had just got back from the Bottle Bank and sank down with large mugs of tea, the Sunday papers and quite severe hangovers.  There in the books pages was a feature on Wendy Cope, featuring:
 
Ten green bottles, drop them in the bank
Ten green bottles, what a lot we drank...
 
I have loved her poems ever since and am delighted to find such a beautiful collection to give this Christmas.
