Danyah Miller: An evening of Storytelling

We’re delighted that award-winning storyteller and writer Danyah Miller will be joining us to speak about her new book ‘Seven Secrets of Spontaneous Storytelling’ and to demonstrate some interactive storytelling games you can enjoy with your family and friends, or at school.

As ever, the evening will finish with questions, and then Danyah will be very happy to sign books.  

Danyah's book has a foreword by Sir Michael Morpurgo who says,

This book is the story of a family brought together through the power of storytelling. ‘Seven Secrets’ tells the tale of Darinka and Adam Dale who, like many parents, encounter all the challenges associated with raising a young family. When Darinka first meets the wise woman, Dorothy, she embarks on a journey to learn the ancient art of oral storytelling, one secret at a time.

At the end of each chapter you’ll find the tips, tricks and games Adam and Darinka learn from Dorothy. These will give you confidence to make up your own stories, inspiring you to create memories with the children in your care that can last a lifetime.

Danyah Miller is an international storyteller, solo performer, writer and story trainer, who has been sharing oral stories professionally for over 20 years. As a storytelling trainer she works nationally in a range of settings, venues, festivals and on local radio, including as a workshop leader at The International School of Storytelling for over 10 years. 

Danyah has adapted or written and starred in five theatrical solo storytelling shows, three of which are award winning including ‘I Believe in Unicorns’ by Michael Morpurgo, seen by over 95,000 people including three West End seasons.
